Overview & brief
history
This ward covers an area from the Boys School in the west to
Queens Quay in the east, Queen Victoria Street in the north to the
River in the south. A mixture of residential and business premises,
it is a lively and busy ward. The Millennium Bridge encourages
tourists all year round.
The prestigious City of London Boys School is situated in the ward
as well as Painters and Stainers Hall. With the refurbished
Salvation Army International Headquarters, Old Mutual Headquarters
and the arrival of the Sumoto Corporation coupled with 68 new
flats in at Sir John Lyon House and the new hotel by Queens Quay
there will be many changes in the ward in the next few years.
