Civil emergencies - emergency plan

City Residents Prepared

The Square Mile has been subject to major incidents over many years and the City of London has worked extremely hard to prepare for all possible kinds of emergencies. It has developed numerous plans and conducts regular exercises to test them. Schools, non-profit organisations and businesses all have contingency plans but are you prepared? The City can respond to incidents but only you can prepare yourself and your household for emergencies. As you read on you’ll see how easy it is to prepare.

Being prepared for any emergency – whether it is a household fire, leak, power outage or terrorist incident – is as easy as taking the precaution to carry an umbrella with you when you know it might rain. Planning ahead is sensible practice. Take the time to develop a ‘home emergency plan’, gather a few key essentials to keep at home, and put a Grab Bag together. A few minutes invested in these activities could save you precious time when you really need it.
