Dowgate is the only station located
within the City boundary and covers an area of approximately two
square kilometres within the postal regions of EC2, EC3 and EC4. It
occupies the lower floors of Mondial House in Upper Thames Street.
The majority of the station's responsibility is for commercial
premises, but the daily influx of workers and visitors makes this
one of only two stations categorised as 'A risk'.

Whitechapel covers a large section of
the City of London commercial and business area. Although the
ground is relatively small, it has a diverse range of risks which
include the London Hospital and its various research centres, the
tourist areas in and around the Tower of London and the
cosmopolitan area of Brick Lane.

Built in 1872, the station is a grade
II listed building. The station is responsible for many buildings
of social and historical importance, including the Royal Courts of
Justice, Lincolns Inn Fields and Hatton Garden.
