Legal aid

If you would like to be represented in court by a solicitor but cannot afford one, you may apply for legal aid by completing a form, which can be obtained from your solicitor or from some Citizens Advice Bureaux. Don't wait until the day of your hearing.

Further information about legal aid can be found from the Legal Services Commission and from Community Legal Advice. Community Legal Advice is the new name for Community Legal Service Direct.

Community Legal Advice is funded by the Legal Services Commission and delivered in partnership with independent advice agencies and solicitors.
