Today, the Court sits daily in its present building which was erected in 1888. In 1971 it became part of the general County Court system of England and Wales.

In May 2006 a Mediation Service - partly administered by the City Disputes Panel - was introduced as part of the Court's case management regime. It has an 88% success rate which is the highest in the country.
