Trading standards - advice to business

The City of London Corporation’s Trading Standards service provides a range of services to businesses based in the City.

We will give advice on your legal obligations relating to the legislation we enforce including fair trading, product safety, weights and measures, consumer credit and civil law.

If your head office is in the City, we will provide a named officer to act as your Home Authority liaison officer, in relation to Trading Standards matters. We are proud to do so for several national companies.

If your enquiry is of a general nature, or you need basic information on a particular subject help and advice can be found at the following links:

Consumer credit licence application forms can be obtained from The Office Of Fair Trading website.

If your business is based outside the City, please visit Trading Standards Central website to find the contact details.
