Mike Vercnocke, Head of Office
Mike Vercnocke is a well-established figure on the Brussels
scene and has worked in Brussels since 1995, when he joined the
European Commission on secondment from the Bank of England.
He went on to work at the European Banking Federation, in
Brussels, where he was a senior adviser for three years and acted
as deputy to the Secretary General, before he was appointed
Director at Houston Consulting Europe in 2002. His main subject
areas were prudential supervision, accounting, auditing, market
infrastructures and retail policy.
He has been Head of the City office in Brussels since July
2007.
Mike’s European credentials extend beyond the professional -
with a Belgian father and British mother he grew up in an
international environment. He was educated in Frankfurt,
Milan, Manchester, Rome and Cambridge.
Robin Jezek, Deputy Head of Office
Robin has been with the Office since its opening in June 2004,
having previously worked as a lobbyist on financial services issues
for a Brussels based consultancy. He has been in Brussels since
2001, having initially completed a six-month internship in the
European Commission.
He holds a graduate degree in Modern Languages from the UK and
two post-graduate degrees in international relations and European
politics gained in Paris during a four-year stay.
Bernadett Parrag, Policy Officer
Bernadett joined the Office in August 2006. She previously
worked for a Brussels based consultancy organising high-level
conferences on financial services issues. She has been in Brussels
since 2004 and has initially completed European Voluntary Service
for a European youth NGO, and an internship at the Brussels office
of the German Industry Federation (BDI).
She holds a bachelors degree in European Business Administration
from the University of Lincoln (UK) and in economics, specialized
in international trade and diplomacy, from the Budapest Business
School (Hungary).
