A facility for organisations
bringing business to the City
Prestigious locations and advanced technology are among the keys
to the City of London's success as a place for the world to do
business. The City of London Corporation is committed to
ensuring that the City builds on this pre-eminence and has
developed the City Marketing Suite as a tool for businesses and
organisations aiming to encourage others to take advantage of the
opportunities offered by the Square Mile.
Situated in the heart of the City within the Guildhall complex,
the suite offers a fully integrated information service for all
sectors and markets. During a typical 12-month period over 18,000
people attend events here.
The state-of-the-art facility comprises two floors. The upper
floor offers a meeting room with foyer area, whilst the lower floor
offers flexible meeting and social space with a large conference
and reception area. The suite bridges the gap between the 1st and
21st centuries as it is housed next to the remains of the
Roman amphitheatre under the
Guildhall, which can be viewed from the lower conference
room.
The two main air-conditioned function rooms accommodate up to
110 visitors, and can be arranged into:
- boardroom style - seating up to 30 people
- lecture style - seating up to 80 people
- standing receptions - for up to 110 people
Interactive scale model of the City of London
The City Marketing Suite houses a unique interactive decision
making tool, which is often used as the focal point of
presentations. The 1:500 scale model of the City offers an
essential guide to property in the Square Mile and provides an
overview of the entire area. Each property is shown in the context
of neighbouring occupants, nearby facilities and public transport.
It is a fascinating depiction of a
21st century city built on 2,000 years of history.
The model is linked to TouchLondon - an interactive database
that selects highlighted properties on the model by size, developer
or location. It includes graphic information about available and
proposed office space as well as information on
planning consents and City of London activities.
The database and model illumination features are controlled via
a touch-screen and are linked to a back projection unit for
presentations to larger groups. The model and TouchLondon are
constantly updated to reflect the changing property scene in the
Square Mile. Visit the TouchLondon website.
