The wheeled container is the commonest form of bin-contained
waste collection system. The containers are either “Paladin” bins
(large circular or square bins on wheels – most often
associated with school playgrounds) or “Eurobins” (these are 1100
litre in capacity and are rectangular in shape with lids and
wheels).
Wheeled bins, which must be stored off street and are usually
kept in either loading bays or storage chambers, are provided and
maintained by the City of London. Collections can normally be made
any days from Monday to Saturday inclusive. Collections of wheeled
bin contained waste currently costs £8.60 plus VAT per bin, per
collection.
Collections are also available for 660 litre wheeled bin
contained waste at £7.40 plus VAT per bin, per collection.
You may apply and pay for your wheeled bin collection online
The City of London is also able to collect compacted waste in
wheeled bins subject to weight restrictions. The cost of collection
is currently £31.00 plus VAT per bin, per collection.
Any business wishing to discuss the collection of waste in
wheeled containers should contact Cleansing Services on 020 7606
3110 extension 2241.
A City business wishing to arrange a waste collection service
will be asked to complete a document called a Waste
Transfer Note. This document is a legal requirement and the
City of London cannot collect waste without it.
If you would be interested in a wheeled bin collection service
for your waste please contact us on the phone number above. We
will then make arrangments to visit your premises to see whether
there is a suitable area for the bins to be sited and discuss with
you the frequency of collections required.
