Health and safety at work - advice and training

Whilst the Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974 and subordinate legislation is primarily enforced through pro-active inspections, project-related visits and reactive investigations of accidents and complaints, the Team’s officers also give talks and presentations to a range of interest groups both locally and nationally in order to promote health & safety and the work of the City of London in the 'Square Mile'.

The City of London also funds the Occupational Health Helpline run by the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry and who deal with over 4000 enquiries from the City and the London area generally each year on a range of health & safety topics.

We also have access to a variety of health & safety information sources and the Team holds a stock of free health & safety related leaflets produced and published by the HSE, many of which are also available as free downloads from their own website; HSE Free Leaflets. Additionally information may also be obtained from the HSE Infoline either over the telephone ( 08701 545500) or by email.
