How to find out about current / forthcoming opportunities to supply the City of London Corporation

The City of London, in common with other public sector organisations and Government departments, must meet the requirements of EU public procurement directives which ensure open and fair competition. Under these directives, we must advertise all contracts with a total value* over £139,893 (for supplies and services) or £3,497,313 (for works) in the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). These adverts enable you to express an interest in the majority of our high value contracts. Contracts and invitations to companies to be considered for inclusion on a select list may also be advertised in the local press or specific trade publications.

Opportunities to supply London councils through the London Contracts and Supplies Group (LCSG) can be viewed at the LCSG website. We will also advertise current or forthcoming opportunities to supply to the City of London on this page, which will be updated as and when these opportunities arise. All OJEU notices will be placed on our Buyer Profile page. We will also place links to all contract opportunities below the OJEU thresholds and to Part B services contracts that need to be advertised here. Please see below for information on these:

Tender for carrying out place satisfaction survey

This Contract Notice is being placed on behalf of London Councils and Capital Ambition who are seeking a service provider to work with potentially 32 London Boroughs and the City of London (the “participating councils”) to devise and implement the Place Survey.  This will be to provide information to at least meet the requirements of the National Indicators satisfaction Place Survey as specified by the Department of Communities and Local Government.  As part of Comprehensive Area Assessment the participating councils will be required to carry out the 'Place Survey'- every two years. This largely replaces the Best Value Performance Indicators general satisfaction survey that was carried out every three years.

As the frequency of the survey has been increased to alternate years, the framework being tendered will allow the participating councils to set up a contract with the service provider is to undertake their Place Survey for the 2008 and potentially the following Place Survey (nominally in 2010).  There will be an option for the participating councils who are party to the Framework Agreement (that will be in place for four year), to extend their individual contracts for a further two years. The contract will enable any of the 32 London boroughs and the City of London to use this contract for any or both of these surveys.

Tenders are being invited using the Open Procedure and a Contract Notice was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 11 July 2008.  This tendering exercise is being managed by London Councils on behalf of the participating councils and if you are interested in obtaining a tender pack please refer to the either the OJEU web-site or the London Councils website.

Please note that expressions of interest must be submitted no later than 12:00 noon on 8 August 2008 and the deadline for receipt of tenders has been set for 12:00 noon on Friday 22 August 2008.  London Councils will be unable to accept late applications or tenders.

Tenderers should be available on 26 August 2008 as they may be invited to London Councils to give presentations regarding their tender.
