The City Together’s third annual stakeholder event was held on
Monday 6 February 2006 in the Guildhall. As at the previous years’
events, the evening session gave people the opportunity to visit
display stands, which provided information on services in the City.
It also gave people the opportunity to attend workshop sessions, as
well as a presentation by Michael Snyder (Chairman, The City
Together). For the first time, a lunchtime session was added to the
event, giving more time for more people to visit the display
stands.
There was a workshop on each of the following topics: Services
for children and young people, Street scene – the future, Physical
activity and health, The City and the Olympics, Late night
licensing, and Recycling. The sessions generated useful discussion,
the results of which will inform the future development of services
in the City.
Approximately 100 people attended the lunchtime session, and
approximately 200 attended in the evening. Thank you to everyone
who took the time to attend.
Summary of feedback
We asked people who attended the event to fill in evaluation
forms. Overall, 94% of attendees thought the event was either “Very
good” or “Good”. People felt that the event was useful in terms of
finding out new information and making new contacts. Some helpful
comments were also made about the venue and about the overall time
available, and about the information distributed before the
event.
What next?
We are pleased with the attendance at this year’s event, but are
always keen to involve more people. For next year’s event we will
use the feedback to ensure that even more people get the
opportunity to attend. The date, time and venue for next year’s
event will be posted on this web page in the next few months.
