The City of London is committed to ensuring the views and
contributions of its communities and service users – be it
residents, workers, businesses, visitors the voluntary and
community sector or others – are put at the heart of all its
activities, helping to inform decision making and improve
services.

Much of the City’s approach to consultation and engagement is
outlined in the Consultation Framework. This has been reviewed for

The framework outlines our strategy for continuous improvement
in the quality and co-ordination of consultation in the City.
There are lots of ways in which the City of London engages with
its communities and service users, including
City Residents’ Meetings, the
City Workers Consultation Panel, and through
special interest or user groups.
The City’s Community Strategy
The City’s Community Strategy, which is called
The City Together: A Vision for a World Class City, sets out
our commitment to, and objectives for, improving the quality of
life for communities in the Square Mile over the next 10 years.
One of the City's key
Community Strategy objectives is "to encourage active community
involvement in service planning and improved service
responsiveness".
The strategy has been developed by
The City Together a partnership of service providers and
representatives from the community, after consultation with the
many different groups that make up the City.
The City Corporation, along with its partners in The City
Together, have recently signed a major new three year agreement
with central Government, called a
Local Area Agreement (LAA), which aims to improve outcomes for
the business and residential communities within the City of London
as well as build on the services that are provided to London and
the nation.
The 2006 / 07 BVPI Resident Satisfaction Survey
Every three years the Government requires the City of London
Corporation and other local authorities to carry out a postal
survey in the local area to assess how satisfied residents are with
the services we provide. The results of the 2006 / 07 survey, which
was conducted from September to November 2007 by independent
researchers Ipsos MORI, is now available.

The City Stakeholder Survey
Every three years the City of London runs a survey with all City
stakeholders – workers, residents, businesses and senior City
executives - to determine how the 'Square Mile' and the City of
London are viewed.
