The garden is attractively laid out with trees, shrubs and flower borders. Each individual item may be dedicated for ten years, followed by renewal for further five or ten-year periods as desired.

The items listed below, many of which can be purchased online, may be dedicated as memorials (subject to availability).

  • Rosebush
  • Flowering shrub in border
  • Space in the heather border
  • Standard rose tree
  • Standard tree
  • Space in the flower border
  • Flagstone in paved footpath
  • Garden seat

Assorted flowers

An inscribed bronze plaque is fixed to a small concrete post next to the dedicated item and the created remains may be placed in the soil nearby. A special area for cut flowers is provided, and care is taken to ensure that nothing detracts from the natural beauty of the garden.

Dedication renewals

Flowers in the memorial gardenDedications for most items in our memorial gardens can be set up for 5, 10, 20 or 30 year periods. The exceptions are our garden seats and flagstones which can be set up for a 10 year period.

At the end of the dedication period a letter is sent to the person who took out the dedication inviting renewal and advising of the options available. Replacement plaques are also available and are included in the renewal if required.

Renewals can be paid for in cash (in person only, please never send cash by post), cheque, postal order or debit/credit card. Cheques and Postal Orders should be made payable to CITY OF LONDON and crossed. If you are not sure when your dedication is due please contact the Memorial Garden Team by telephone, email, or by visiting our administration office supplying the dedication number or failing this, the full name of the person commemorated.
