For younger people, Sir John Cass's Foundation Primary School takes pupils aged from 3-11 years, whilst the youth service offers many stimulating opportunities across a range of activities.

Integrated working

Improving outcomes for children and young people, so that every child achieves their potential, involves changes to culture and practice across the children's workforce. These new ways of working shift the focus from dealing with the consequences of difficulties in children's lives to early intervention and effective prevention.

Independent schools

Distinct from its Local Authority role, the City of London runs three independent schools - City of London School, City of London School for Girls and City of London Freemen's School, all of which regularly deliver excellent results.

The City of London Academy (Southwark) is a publicly funded, fully-inclusive and all-ability school with an independent status. The Academy aims to be a centre of excellence providing a modern, high quality education for students from the Square Mile and Southwark.

The City of London also runs the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama internationally recognised as a centre of excellence.
