Welcome to the City of London’s Adult Education Service. We offer a range of courses for adults including employers and families.

Enrolment  spring 2009

Enrolments take place at the City of London Community Education Centre, 99 Golden Lane, London EC1Y 0TZ; Tel: 020 7608 2753

  • 8 - 12 December
  • 5 - 9 January

All students must enrol in person during the times stated above. If you are unable to attend any of the enrolment sessions, please ring 020 7332 3946 for assistance. Further information on how to enrol is available on the Learner Support pages of the Learning in the City prospectus (download link above).

Languages and ESOL tutors will be available to give advice and assess your level at various times throughout enrolment week. For details of availability, please download the Languages and/or Skills for Life pages of the Learning in the City prospectus (download link above).

Payment for all courses can be made either in cash or by cheque (payable to The City of London)

If you are 60 or over at the point of enrolment, receive an income based benefit or you are unemployed and receive Job Seeker's Allowance then you may be eligible for a concession. Please make sure you bring up-to-date evidence to enrolment.

City Guides Course

The next City Guides Course (2008/9) will start in October 2008. Please download the document below for more information on this year’s course. If you would like to apply for the 2008/9 course, please ring 020 7332 3928 or email adulteducation@cityoflondon.gov.uk to request that you be added to the City Guides Course 2008/9 mailing database. You will then receive an application pack when they are sent out in June/July 2008.

Education trusts

The City of London has a number of education trusts that can financially support students to further extend their educational interests. Each have their own set of criteria and level of funding. They include:

  • Higher Educational Research & Special Expenses Fund
  • Archibald Dawnay Scholarships for Civil Engineers
  • Robert Blair Fellowship in Applied Science and Technology
