Free school meals


Free School lunchies

Children whose parents are in receipt of:-

  • Income support or income based Job Seeker’s Allowance;
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999;
  • Child Tax Credit where the parent is not entitled to Working Tax Credit and whose annual income (assessed by the Inland Revenue) does not exceed £15,575 or
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit,

are entitled to free school meals. Children whose parents meet these criteria and who are already receiving free school meals at primary school will need to re-apply to the Local Authority the school is situated in. 

Whom do I contact for an application form?

All applications for free school meals must be made to the Local Authority where the school is situated. (The school your child attends will be able to supply further details.)
