The charges for our building control service
are based upon the estimated cost of the works. For new
developments, larger refurbishments and major fit-outs there are
often items included in the overall cost that can be omitted for
the purposes of building control. In addition, if your work
involves internal alterations of floor layouts costing in excess of
£100,000 the charge is likely to be reduced. Prior to making your

of the cost of work and to ascertain the resultant charge.

On 1 January 2004, we introduced charges to cover the approval
and inspection work associated with Section 20 of the London
Building Acts (Amendment) Act 1939. This control (over and above
the Building Regulations) covers certain fire precautions in
buildings of excess height or volume in the Inner London region. To
recognise the overlap we will reduce the charge for applications
that we are also dealing with under the Building Regulations.

charge appropriate to your application. These charges have since
been amended with the revised charges coming into effect on 3 June
2006.
