Application for consent to carry out works to a tree the subject of a Tree Preservation Order

  • Three copies of a completed / signed application form (link below)

Application for works on a tree subject to a Tree Preservation Order (11kb)

On the application form or on a separate page the trees to which the application relates and the extent of works proposed to each tree must be specified. In addition you should state the reasons for making the application in respect of each tree. In setting out your reasons for the works, it is also helpful if you could provide evidence to support your case (such as a professional report into the health of the trees, or in the case of alleged subsidence a professional report on ground movement at the site.)
  • Four copies of drawings or a series of photographs showing the precise extent of the works proposed including the extent of the proposed canopy reduction and the cutting points of the main branches.
  • Four copies of a location plan at a minimum scale of 1:100 with the trees marked in red.

Please note that:

  • Each drawing and photograph must be labelled to indicate which tree is shown.
  • All drawings must be dimensioned and drawn to an accurate metric scale.
  • When highlighting features please use tone, varied line thickness or bold as drawings are normally only scanned in black and white.
  • A fee is not required.
