Field Studies Council
From 1928 until the early 1950s this area was the site of a speedway racing track. In 1970, the City of London established a Field Centre (now the Field Studies Centre) at High Beach which runs a number of weekend and day courses covering a wide range of natural history subjects, a number of the courses are suitable for wheelchair users. Please contact the Field Studies Centre directly to obtain the programme and discuss accessibility of the individual courses.

Suntrap Forest Education Centre, situated in Church Road, High Beach, is owned by the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The centre provides opportunities for environmental education and adventurous activities for schools and other groups from the London Borough of Waltham Forest and beyond.

Epping Forest Centenary Trust
The Epping Forest Centenary Trust (EFCT)is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children, especially those from primary schools in the poorer London boroughs, to learn about and appreciate the wonders of woodland life on their doorstep. Many come from backgrounds in which forests and their natural life are considered a danger to humanity rather than a benefit. The EFCT's watchwords are therefore awareness and conservation in a managed ecological environment. The EFCT work closely with the Epping Forest authorities to achieve complementary aims, based on Epping Forest's original statute, providing a green space for all to enjoy. The EFCT is a fully independent charity, relying entirely on income and investments from well-wishers. The EFCT work from the Epping Forest headquarters, The Warren, Loughton, Essex, IG10 4RN, with the goodwill of Epping Forest's Conservators. Please visit the EFCT website for further information.
