Regeneration

The City Business Traineeship scheme provides young people from the City fringe with Summer work placements in the CityThe Square Mile houses some of the richest concentrations of economic activity in the world. However, its neighbours include some of the UK's most deprived communities. The City of London Corporation is acutely aware that the City should not prosper in isolation and is therefore committed to working with partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors to bring lasting social, economic and physical regeneration to the City fringes. The City of London is actively engaged in numerous regeneration partnerships and also contributes funding to a wide range of regeneration projects, as well as commissioning its own initiatives.

In addition, the City of London uses its unique position to engage the business community in projects that will directly benefit local residents and small businesses in neighbouring boroughs. Visit our corporate community involvement pages to find out about how your City or City fringe business can make a real difference to the local community.
