City of London Employee Volunteering Programme

Employee Volunteering logoThe City of London Corporation leads by example, so as part of its commitment to Corporate Community Involvement it established its own employee volunteering programme in 2002. The programme is linked to the City Corporation’s core values of working in partnership with its neighbours to reduce levels of deprivation and social exclusion encountered in many of the surrounding boroughs.

All staff are entitled to take 14 hours of working time each year to get involved in approved volunteering activities such as mentoring school pupils, sharing business skills with charity partners and becoming a school governor.  Staff are also encouraged to use volunteering as a learning and development tool to help achieve key competencies as demonstrated in appraisals.

Our annual CentriCity Awards celebrate the outstanding contribution that City Corporation volunteers make to the local communities.  Each applicant or nominee could be awarded up to £500 for their chosen community organisation.  If you work for a community organisation or school and would like to nominate a City of London Corporation volunteer, please click here for further details
