City of London Employee Volunteering Programme

Employee Volunteering logoThe City Corporation leads by example, so as part of its commitment to Corporate Community Involvement it established its own employee volunteering programme. The programme is linked to the City Corporation’s core values of working in partnership with its neighbours to reduce levels of deprivation and social exclusion encountered in many of the surrounding boroughs.

All staff are entitled to take 14 hours of work time each year to get involved in approved volunteering activities and are encouraged to use volunteering as a learning and development tool to help achieve key competencies as demonstrated in appraisals.

An annual Employee Volunteering Awards programme celebrates the outstanding contribution that City Corporation volunteers make to the local communities.
