The
East London Business
Alliance (ELBA) is a business-led and business-funded
regeneration agency that:
- Encourages and facilitates business involvement in the social
and economic regeneration of East London;
- Assists in the transfer of business skills, experience and
resources to community and voluntary projects in East London
through a large scale employee volunteering network;
- Provides an unrivalled networking opportunity for private and
public sector partnership that includes the City, Thames Gateway
London Partnership, London First, local authorities and local
communities;
- Ensures that a business voice representing East London’s
priorities is heard by local and central government;
- Promotes business interests in the redevelopment of East
London.
ELBA's coverage area runs east from the City of London to the
M25 orbital motorway, operating north of the River Thames and
covering the London boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham,
Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering.
Led by private sector members, ELBA channels
the influence, resources and skills of local businesses into
regeneration in East London. It also provides a business voice on
significant issues affecting the area.
ELBA seeks business support for a range of
transport projects, increasing skills in East London and working
for the social and physical regeneration of the area, with a focus
on education, the environment, housing and health.
