Food safety - regulations


Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs.

Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin.

These regulations were issued by the European Commission, and lay down minimum food safety requirements for food operations throughout the European Union.

In addition, UK requirements are set out in the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006.
