The Children, Families and Asylum Seekers Service does not
have a dedicated adoption or fostering service. We are, however,
able to provide information and advice about all aspects of
adoption and fostering and assist in referring applicants to
relevant agencies.

Adoption and in-care enquiry counselling service
London Metropolitan Archives holds the in-care and adoption
files from the London and Middlesex County County Councils,
covering the period 1926 to 1965. If you were in care or adopted
through either of these organisations you can contact the
LMA enquiry team.
For adoptions in Greater London after 1965 contact the social
services of the relevant London Borough.
