Low cost home ownership

If you are working and on a low income there are a number of ways in which you may be able to get help with buying a home. There are a number of schemes available. Some involve buying a home in stages, others provide a low cost loan towards the purchase price; if you are leaving a council home you may be entitled to a grant to put towards buying a home. Depending upon your current circumstances you may be entitled to apply to one or several schemes.

Shared ownership: Shared ownership allows first time buyers who can't afford a home on the open market to buy a home from a Registered Social Landlord (Housing Association) in stages.

Do it Yourself Shared Ownership - DIYSO: Do It Yourself Shared Ownership allows NHS workers who can't afford to buy their first home on the open market to buy a home purchase on the open market in stages.

Homebuy: The Homebuy scheme can help first time buyers who can't afford a home on the open market by providing a loan of 25% of the value of the home purchased.
