This year marks the 450th anniversary of Elizabeth I’s accession to the throne in 1558. During her reign Elizabeth made important contributions to the development of London as a powerful centre of world trade and political authority.  Discover more about the links between the Virgin Queen and her capital.

London in World War I

Saturday 22 November, 2.00pm - 4.30pm, at London Metropolitan Archives

Event

This event marks the 90th anniversary of the end of WWI with a look at life in London 1914 – 1918 covering conscription, conscientious objectors, Zeppelin raids, the role of women workers, the experience of wounded soldiers, armistice and commemorating those who served.  Records held at LMA will be used extensively to support an afternoon of presentations and discussion.
