We have a number of resources available to on-line users who
wish to access our records and catalogues. You can use these
resources to see what records we hold, to find out more about
our collections, and to plan what you'd like to look at if you
come to visit us.
You'll find a summary of what is available on-line below, so
feel free to explore! If you put all the shelves of our
collections end to end it would stretch over 105km! With
that volume of material, we can't hope to have everything
available on-line, so if you can't find what you're looking
for or if you have any other questions, please email us at

Search our
online catalogue
You can now look through our collections catalogue
online. This catalogue is available at LMA
online, or as a paper list. You can use this facility to plan which
documents you want to see when you visit us in person.
You can also register for our new History Card, which will
enable you to use more of our services when you visit LMA. Try

Ancestry
London Metropolitan Archives are delighted to announce a
new partnership with Ancestry™ to digitise genealogical
sources.
The first sets of indexed records are available on the
ancestry.co.uk website now. To find out more please visit our
digitisation page, or alternatively you can go straight to
the Ancestry.co.uk website for the very latest
information.
Family History Research
Service
If you are unable to visit the archives in person, you may wish
to use our Family history Research Service. One of our enquiry team
members will be able to research our records to find out about your

Signatures
London Signatures is an index of 10,000 wills from the
Archdeaconry Court of Middlesex, and 23,500 marriage bonds from the
Commissary for the Archdeaconry of Surrey have been added to the
index, which is searchable for free online.
If you find a document which is of interest, you

Generations
London Generations is a database compiled from genealogical
sources held at London Metropolitan Archives.
London Generations includes Anglican Parish Registers of
Baptism, Marriage and Burial, Anglican Parish Poor Law Registers,
varioius records of local Boards of Guardians and much more. Visit
