Port Health Authority


One of the Port Health Authority's river launches in actionThe London Port Health Authority, is part of the City of London Corporation, the local authority for the Square Mile, the City business sector of London. The Authority is responsible for a district which extends for 150 kilometres (94 miles) along the tidal Thames from Teddington to the outer Estuary and includes the Ports of Tilbury, Thamesport, Sheerness and London City Airport.

The Authority, the largest in the UK, has been in existence since 1872 and is part of the City of London's Department of Environmental Services.

ISO 9001 markThe Authority is registered against ISO 9001 for its imported food enforcement service at the Ports of Tilbury, Thamesport and Sheerness and  the food hygiene service on the river.
