Pay & display

Parking machineThe City of London provides parking for essential car users. It seeks to reduce the use of on-street space in favour of short stay parking in public car parks. The on-street space is divided to try to make adequate provision for all essential users.

Vehicles must not be left in a pay and display bay without displaying a valid pay and display ticket. If the pay and display machine displays 'Out of Order' or fails to issue a pay and display ticket you must purchase a pay and display ticket from another machine. Monies lost in pay and display machines can be reclaimed by either writing to the address on the information plate on the machine, or by email parking.administration@cityoflondon.gov.uk.

Pay and display bays may be suspended for highways works, special events or other reasons. You must therefore check the pay and display sign each time you park. Any vehicle parked in a suspended bay is liable, even if a pay and display ticket is displayed, to receive a Penalty Charge Notice (parking ticket) and may also be clamped or removed.
