Events management
Effective management of events taking place on the public highway
is essential to ensure the success of the event, safety of
participants and spectators and to minimise disruption to other
highway users. Planning involves discussions between the event
organiser, the City Police and the City of London. On the ground
activities include the provision of crowd control barriers.
Events that have taken place recently include the City of London
Festival, Sport Relief Run, London Bikeathon, and Concerts at
Finsbury Circus.
If you are planning an event which would impact on the
highway, apply
online providing information about your event. Current
events which cause disruption to Highway users are listed above
under Streetworks.
