City Online Maps Project Accessing
Spatial Systems (COMPASS)
Welcome to COMPASS, a new project offering interactive maps
for the City of London. The aim is to improve access to information
about the City of London within a single resource so that residents
and those visiting the City are better informed. A range of
data is available on the site such as where to find your nearest
services and information about planning policies affecting the
City.

For full use of the COMPASS site we recommend viewing at a
screen resolution of 1024 x 768 and setting your browser not to
block pop-ups. The City of London provides this service for
information purposes only. We seek to meet the highest standard of
quality information and every attempt has been made to present up
to date and accurate information. However, we cannot be held
responsible for the misuse or misinterpretation of any information
and offer no warranty to its accuracy or completeness. Therefore we
accept no liability for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused as
a result of reliance on this information.
The Ordnance Survey map data included within this website is
provided by the City of London under licence from the Ordnance
Survey in order to fulfil its public function as a planning
authority. Persons viewing this map data should contact
Ordnance Survey copyright for advice where they
wish to license Ordnance Survey map data for their own use. Before
entering COMPASS please visit our
Help Guide to learn how to use this
site.
The COMPASS website loads in a separate window. If no
window appears, you may have pop-up blocking turned on. The below
instructions will help guide you in enabling the site to be
viewed.
Pop-up blocking needs to be turned off
Pop-up blocking stops unwanted advertising windows from appearing.
The COMPASS site puts pop-up windows to good use, so you will need
to turn off pop-up blocking.
You may have pop-up blocking switched on as part of your browser
(eg Pop-up blocker for Internet Explorer 6 from Windows XP,
Netscape 7, AOL), or it may be a feature of a programme or toolbar
you have downloaded (eg Google toolbar, Yahoo toolbar).
Consult the relevant documentation to switch off pop-up
blocking, or put *.cityoflondon.gov.uk in the 'white list' so that
pop-up windows are allowed on this site.
The City of London is committed to promoting accessibility for
disabled people living and working in the Square Mile. The
map-based information contained in COMPASS is not adequate for
screen readers. As an alternative to the above developed mapping
application we have compiled an extensive list of the information
contained in COMPASS along with the relevant links to the data in
other formats. Please see the below list. If you require further
information on access in the City, please
contact
the Access Office.
