Sheriffs’ Award for outstanding bravery – nominate now

This is your opportunity to nominate people or organisations worthy of receiving this unique bravery award.

For the third year, nominations are being sought from the public, security and emergency services and from armed forces across the United Kingdom for those who have displayed selfless determination, bravery, courage and initiative in protecting people, property or liberty.

A cheque for £2,000 will be awarded and the name of the recipient of Sheriffs' Award 2008 will be inscribed on a special scroll which will be inserted in a Book of Honour on permanent display within the Central Criminal Court, at The Old Bailey.

Sheriff of the City of London, Alderman Ian Luder said: “I am delighted to be associated with this award, which recognises acts of exceptional bravery shown by people from all walks of life. This scheme is a superb initiative by the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals.”

Mr Peter French, Master of the WCoSP said: "The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals are proud to honour so many heroes from all walks of life. For the family of those that we honour,  the awards ceremony may be the only time they hear how brave their wife, husband, mother, father or sibling was.  In each year we identify an individual or group that has made a difference by protecting their community"  .
