The City of London Corporation are pleased to announce that, for the first time, and due to popular demand, cycle hire is now available in Epping Forest.

The service is being provided by ‘Go Further Cycling’ and once bikes are booked, they will be available to collect from the Epping Forest Visitor Centre, in High Beach, or from any agreed location throughout Epping Forest.

Bikes are suitable for all, including children from four years of age.  Also available to hire are child seats, trailers and tag-a-long bikes making it possible for the whole family to get out and explore Epping Forest on two wheels. School groups and corporate groups can be catered for.

Visitor Services Manager, Tony Fenwick, said, “For many years we have been inundated with requests to hire bikes from our Visitor Centre in Epping Forest. We’re delighted that we can now provide this service. We hope that many more people will now be able to enjoy Epping Forest using pedal power. With our new bus service operating between Chingford, Loughton and High Beach on Sundays and Public Holidays, it is now more possible than ever to get out and enjoy the Forest without using a car.”

Wayne Starling, owner of ‘Go Further Cycling’, who are based at Debden House Camp Site, said, “Cycling is a fantastic way to explore Epping Forest, so we are really pleased and excited about giving more people the opportunity to do so. Many of our customers come from London and really enjoy a day away from city life.”
