Two Moroccan
civil servants visited the Trading Standards department at the City
of London Corporation last week (Friday 4 April) to find out more
about market surveillance in the UK, and how existing procedures
aim to provide a high level of health, safety, environment and
consumer protection. During their visit, Taha Ghazi and Ghislaine
Zitouni from the Moroccan government’s Ministry of Industry, Trade
and Economy heard how UK control agencies share information with
each other, how systems are put in place to collect information
about consumer complaints, and which procedures are followed when
products are withdrawn from the market for safety reasons.
