What are Annual Wardmotes?
Wardmotes, that is to say, Ward meetings, take place on an annual basis outside election years to allow constituents to meet their elected representatives. The meeting provides an opportunity for voters to raise concerns and ask questions of their Alderman and Common Councilmen. The Members will also give an update to voters regarding work they have been doing over the year and provide details of relevant news.
There are, in addition, a couple of brief formal items to attend to which are concerned with appointing Ward officers and an element of City tradition to observe in the way that the meeting is ceremonially opened and closed.
If you wish to find out further details about the Annual Wardmotes, please contact Electoral Services by telephone on 0800 5875537 or email electoralservices@cityoflondon.gov.uk.
When are the next Annual Wardmotes?
In March 2014. All registered Ward electors on the 2014-2015 Ward Lists will be sent an invitation to attend their Wardmote in February 2014.
