"A world class City requires world class products and services. We have developed guidance notes for contracts under £250k (48kb) and contracts for £250k and above (56kb) which lay out our expectations of suppliers when it comes to upholding the high standards the City of London Corporation sets itself with respect to the environment, equal opportunities and social responsibility."
Chris Bilsland, Chamberlain
The Considerate Contractor Scheme (CCS) aims to encourage building and civil engineering contractors working in the City to carry out their operations in a safe and considerate manner, with due regard to passing pedestrians and road users.
Building sites and streetworks are annually judged on the basis of their overall performance during that year and on a site visit by a specially appointed judging panel. Awards are presented by the Lord Mayor at the annual awards ceremony.
If you are working within the area controlled by the City of London and believe you qualify for the CCS, as a Developer or Building Contractor, then you can join the CCS scheme.
Alternatively, if you are working within the area controlled by the City of London you may wish to qualify for the CCS scheme as a Streetworks Statutory Utility, or join the scheme as a Streetworks Contractor.
