Where and how to find us
Market opening times:

Closed: Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays
Although the Market officially closes at midday, the majority of stalls operate between 3am and 9am, with the busiest period being between 3am and 6am. Therefore, we advise you to arrive within this period in order that you have the widest choice of meat and see the Market at its liveliest.
There has been a lot of coverage in the press recently about the redevelopment of parts of Smithfield Market. For clarification, the buildings that are to be redeveloped are the former General and Annex buildings located at the western end of the site, between the Poultry Market building and Farringdon Street. These buildings have been unused for market purposes for many years. The wholesale meat market will continue to operate in the existing three buildings comprising the Poultry Market and the East and West Market buildings sited between West Poultry Avenue and Lindsey Street.
