PIN day
From 1 May you will need your PIN to be able to enjoy the full
range of City of London library services. Please present your
membership card to a member of staff at a City of London Lending
Library to collect your PIN.
London 1000 Years
The City Corporation’s remarkable collections of material
documenting London’s history over the last millennium showcased in
a new book.
Published in December 2011, and coinciding with the 600th
anniversary of the Guildhall, London 1000 Years contains items from
the 11th century right up to the present day, illustrated in full
colour, chosen and described by the experts who curate them.
Highlights include the City’s charter from William the Conqueror,
its Magna Carta, a property deed signed by Shakespeare, a love
letter from the dying John Keats and pre-Raphaelite paintings.
A paperback edition is available only from the City Corporation
priced at £19.95

City of London Libraries goes mobile with the Library App!
Smartphone users can now access our services using a new mobile
app.
Designed by SI.DIGI, the app can be downloaded for free by
searching for City of London Libraries in the app store for Apple,
Android and
Windows Phone 7.
Currently the app can be used to
- find your nearest Library
- find out about our great range of events, activities and
exhibitions
- access the library catalogue and
- find out more about The Library App.
and, later this year, users will be able to use it to access a
mobile-friendly catalogue, reserve and renew items, and make
payments.

Free audiobook downloads
Library members can now download audio books for free. All you
need is a computer (PC or Mac) with broadband access and you can
download the selected eAudiobook, play it on your PC, or transfer
it to your MP3 player, iPod, or even your mobile phone or
smartphone. For more information,

Web based language learning
All you need is your borrower number. Go to
BYKI and choose to set up a new user
account. Enter your library card number, prefaced by CLP (e.g.
CLP12345678) - and then follow the instructions. You will be
able to log in to access any of 80 languages, anywhere, at any
time. No additional software is required.
Not a member but want to use these services?
All you need is a membership card - either come into one of our
City of London lending libraries to join, or complete the
online membership form and pick
up your card from a library of your choice.

Donations of items in good physical condition are welcomed on
the understanding that the Department retains the right to
transfer, sell or otherwise dispose of them if they are not added
to stock. Please contact Barbican or Shoe Lane libraries if
you would like to donate any material.
