Director Kota Nakamura joins us for a screening of this BFI-nominated short film, The Last Page followed by a Q&A.

This 11-minute documentary captures the final days of Polan Shobo, a bookseller specialising in antiquarian books in the Tokyo suburbs. Kyosuke Ishida, the owner, has decided to close down his shop after 35 years due to the recession caused by the pandemic. In the week before the closure, the shop sees an unexpected surge in visitors. This space continues to offer its visitors what it has offered them until the very last page.

This screening will only take place in-person at Shoe Lane Library. For more details about the screening, please click the ticket booking link.
