Make the most of your time in the City of London this summer with free Visit the City app
Visit the City - a new app created by the City of London Corporation in partnership with Ramus Tong – is out now and free to download for android and iPhone. Tailored to your tastes and needs, the app creates an ‘itinerary’ of things to see and do in the City of London on a given day, at any time.
The ‘itinerary’ presents events and places in the City of London, as a set of three, which you can follow – keep a particular attraction - or swipe your screen for a completely new selection. There is a map to guide you through your itinerary, a favourite’s button to save itineraries, and even the weather forecast to make sure you don’t get caught out by the Great British weather. The app also provides real time travel information.
City of London Corporation Policy Chairman Mark Boleat said:
“There is so much to celebrate this summer – and so much to see and do. This app ensures those visiting the City of London can make the most of their time spent here and experience some of the amazing places and events in the City that are here for all of London’s communities to enjoy.”
Simon Shearston, Managing Partner of Ramus Tong, said:
“It has been a privilege to develop this with the City of London. A lot of travel apps present lists and lists of information, so we tried to organise it around broad interests, weighted into itineraries and support in a simple interface, for a great day out. I hope that people will discover interesting places and things to do that they may not have known about and enjoy the riches of the City.”
