Lord Mayor's Banquet 2012 - Media Accreditation

The Lord Mayor's Banquet is held in honour of the immediate past Lord Mayor and is the first to be hosted by the new Lord Mayor of the City of London. Traditionally, it is at this Banquet when the Prime Minister makes a major World Affairs speech. The speakers at the Banquet this year will be:

  1. Lord Mayor - Alderman Roger Gifford (Lord Mayor from 9 Nov 2012)
  2. Prime Minister - the Rt Hon David Cameron MP
  3. Archbishop of Canterbury - Dr Rowan Williams
  4. Late Lord Mayor - Alderman David Wootton (Lord Mayor until 9 Nov 2012)
  5. Lord Chancellor – Chris Grayling, MP

 The following media opportunities will be available:

  1. Arrivals on Guildhall Porch     - Approx 6.00 pm
  2. Reception in the Old Library and Art Gallery  - 6.30 pm
  3. PM signing Distinguished Guest Book in the Art Gallery  - 6.45pm
  4. Procession into Dinner in Great Hall    - 6.55 pm
  5. Speeches in Great Hall     - 8.30 pm

Please indicate clearly which position you wish to take up. It is not possible for the same person to cover both arrivals and the reception of guests.

  • Please email sanjay.odedra@cityoflondon.gov.uk the details requested by 5pm Wednesday 7 November: name of representative, representing, positions requested (numbered above), contact name, contact number.
  • Due to high demand, spaces for the media are limited and you will therefore be advised whether your application has been successful on Thursday 8 November.

At the Banquet

  • Photographers and reporters attending the event are asked to arrive at 5.30pm.
  • Members of the media should report to the West Wing Reception at Guildhall (corner of Gresham Street and Aldermanbury, EC2), where they will be given their security passes.
  • Please ensure that all members of the media are suitably dressed in dark lounge suits or the equivalent for ladies.
  • Please also ensure that ALL MOBILE TELEPHONES are switched off throughout the event (both inside and outside).
  • There will be no parking facilities available.
