Information and advice services available to people in the City of London:
City Advice
The City of London works with Toynbee Hall to provide a free, confidential, independent information and advice service for the City.
If you live, work or study in the City of London or are a City of London tenant you can ask the City Advice Team for advice on anything at all, and their experienced and trained advisers will be able to help - or they’ll put you in touch with someone who can. The team can advise on the following subjects over the phone, by email or at one of the free drop in avice surgeries across the City:
- Employment issues
- Questions about tenancy agreements or housing benefits
- Financial queries about credit cards, loans or bank accounts
- Questions about consumer rights
- Welfare benefits and legal matters
- Relationship problems

City 50+ Project
The City50+ project is available to City (Square Mile) residents aged over fifty. It is a support and signposting service that aims to assist on a range of concerns including housing, social care, income and benefits, health and wellbeing, employment, and social activities. Opportunities to participate in learning or volunteering can also be explored.
The Outreach Worker is usually available from Wednesday – Friday and can be contacted on 020 7392 2987 / 07432 736 495 and helena.toms@toynbeehall.org.uk
Advice and support for carers looking after a family member or friend who is sick or disabled
The City works with the City & Hackney Carers Centre to offer City carers specialist independent help, advice and support. One-to-One counselling and emotional support sessions are also available and the Centre runs regular sessions at the City Business Library.

Information and advice for people living with HIV
The city works with Positive East who offers confidential and impartial help, support and information for anyone living with or affected by HIV in the City.
Positive East also provides one-to-one and group support, including emotional support and counselling, as well as access to a range of therapies and gym.
