After school clubs and holiday play schemes are types of 'out of school childcare'. These are clubs or sessions of childcare for children over five that take place outside of school hours. Out of school childcare provides children of school age with opportunities to play, learn, have fun and relax outside school hours.

Details of all out of school clubs in the City can be found on the FYi Directory

After School Clubs

After school clubs take place immediately after the school day. They provide a place where children can come to develop their social, physical, creative and intellectual skills. The staff are trained in play work and provide a curriculum of activities that include arts and crafts, drama, sports and excursions. The emphasis is always on fun!

Cass Play Centre After School Club

The after school club at Cass Playcentre provides childcare for children in school years 1-6. It offers children a wide variety of fun activities that encourage social and personal development and continued learning even after the school bell has rung!

When the children arrive at the Playcentre they are given light refreshments and are able to enjoy free play activities such as group games, arts and crafts e.g. painting, cooking, collage etc., floor games, aerobics, group discussions, games and sports like Softball, Baseball, Cricket, Football, Basketball etc.
