Six young people and six older people from the City of London are being offered an opportunity to try their hand at sailing.
The teambuilding activity is being organised by Tall Ships Adventures in conjunction with Tall Ships Youth Trust from 2 to 9 September 2012, in a bid to improve relations between the different age groups.
During the experience, teams will be given tasks including navigating, sail management, boat maintenance, cleaning, and cooking, which will be supervised by a paid crew and volunteers.
The sail will take place on the Challenger IV Round the World Yacht from Portsmouth, heading to at least one foreign port.
All participants will have an opportunity to contribute to the Tall Ships diary using an ipad, which will be published here daily. It will include fun images, write-ups and a link to the Tall Ships’ Twitter and Facebook pages. It’s a great way to share experiences about overcoming challenges with other local residents.
At the end of the trip, each participant will become formally accredited and registered as a Royal Yachting Association Competent crew.
