The City's primary school is Sir John Cass's Foundation Primary School. An ‘Outstanding’ school as judged by OFSTED in its last inspection, it serves a diverse community and aims to ensure that every child matters and excels in their personal, social and emotional development. Nationally expected standards are reached and exceeded by a majority of pupils in English, Mathematics and Science and the success of pupils at the school is mirrored by the excellent teamwork between the staff, governors, parents, pupils and community workers.
The school has a Child and Family Sure Start Centre which provides early education and integrated childcare, as well as Health and family support services. The also has after school provision for children aged six and over.

The City of London Academy, Southwark was the first new city academy to be built in the country, moving into its new buildings in September 2005. It is sponsored by the City of London Corporation and has specialisms in business and enterprise, and sport. It provides for a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and hearing impairment. The academy has a specialist hearing impairment unit. The academy has gained Healthy School status and its work in sport, careers and developing international educational partnerships has also been recognised through external validations. The academy was rated ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted inspection with good capacity for sustained improvement.

City of London School
The City of London School is an independent day school for boys aged 10 to 18 with a history of achievement that dates back to the 15th century. The School has a unique location at the very heart of the city below St Paul’s Cathedral, maintaining and nurture strong relationships with the City itself and with the business community that surrounds it. The School offers exceptional sporting facilities and fields teams in regional and national finals across a range of sports. The music department is second to none and there is a very wide variety of other extra-curricular activities. City of London School for Girls
The City of London School for Girls is a non-denominational, independent day school, for girls aged 7 to 18, based in the London Square Mile. The School was established by the Corporation of the City of London with money from a bequest from William Ward of Brixton to provide education for girls that “would correspond, as near as may be, to the City of London School”. The school opened in Carmelite Street in 1894 and moved to the present premises in the Barbican in 1969.In its last Independent Schools Inspectorate report it describes the school as, “The curriculum provides an outstanding educational experience for the pupils throughout the school. It is well supported by a good range of extra-curricular activities in the prep school and an outstanding range in the senior school, which enable pupils to enrich their educational experience”.
