Training and support

The City of London is committed to supporting individual tenants and groups of tenants and residents to get involved.

As part of the resident involvement consultation, we asked for residents’ views on what support they might need in order to become involved.

We are using these results to continuously develop our training and support programme.

The courses we can either provide in-house or through external trainers are:

  •  confidence building
  •  committee skills
  •  computer/internet training
  •  representing your community
  •  equalities and diversity
  •  writing reports
  •  DIY skills for tenants
  •  first aid
  •  fundraising
  •  organising community events
  •  housing services for beginners

These web pages will publish all available training, and all tenants and Residents' Associations will be given copies.

In the meantime, all registered Residents' Associations will be receiving on-going support to help them meet their aims successfully and involve more members.

We hope that by taking part in such training, individual tenants will benefit. For example, courses could improve job prospects and self confidence. We will work with external bodies to accredit our courses where this is possible.
