Swimming Summer Season
The Swimming Summer Season is up and running from Saturday 4 May, with the Mixed Pond open from 7am to 6.30pm (vacate water) 6.45pm (vacate facility).
Would people love to see your photographs of Hampstead Heath?
We are seeking very good quality photographs for possible use in the 2014 Hampstead Heath Calendar, all proceeds of which will go towards the Hampstead Heath Charity.
Have you captured a cracking Heath view or snapped a stunning Heath landscape? If so and if you are willing to offer it as a candidate for inclusion, then please email it to hampstead.heath@cityoflondon.gov.uk typing ‘Hampstead Heath Calendar candidate’ in the subject bar.
The photographer of any image chosen for inclusion will receive eight free copies of the finished calendar, a full credit and our very great appreciation!
The photographs should be at least 300dpi at the size of the finished calendar, which is slightly larger than A4. If in doubt, please just send what you have.
The deadline for receipt of candidate photographs is 7 June 2013.

Guerrillas on the Heath
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) has received a confirmed grant of £440,600 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to build links between people and nature on Hampstead Heath. Activities and events for the three year Wild About Hampstead Heath project will start soon.
Wild About Hampstead Heath aims to enthuse tens of thousands of Londoners, many from some of the most deprived areas of the UK, about the Heath’s wildlife and natural heritage through a programme of activities and the creation of new wildlife areas.
The plans include ‘guerrilla style’, pop-up events and cutting edge audio-visual equipment showcasing wildlife.

LEHART (the London, Essex and Hertfordshire Amphibian & Reptile Trust) is surveying our population of rare grass snakes to help us work out how best to conserve them.
