Every Wednesday at 11am the Park offers a free one hour walk for members of the public. This is a fantastic opportunity to get active and enjoy the fresh air in the magnificent surrounding of West Ham Park. A Health Questionnaire (110kb) needs to be completed before you take part in your first walk. You can download more Health Walks Information (140kb).

West Ham Park run series

Tessa Sanderson Foundation and Academy hold a weekly Sunday run in West Ham Park. The 5km route is open to all ages and the shorter 2km run is a great way for under 10s to enjoy the open space while getting active. For more information please follow the link here Tessa Sanderson run series

Walking/Jogging route

The Park has a popular 2km walking/jogging route along the paths. Use our map (197kb) or visit us in the office for a copy.

Paddling pool

One of the Parks major attractions in the summer is the paddling pool. The paddling pool is open seasonally from the last May bank holiday until the end of August subject to weather and staff availability. There is no charge to use the pool but age restrictions and adult supervision apply.

Playground

The children’s playground has recently undergone an upgrade. There are plans for more improvements in the near future which include more accessible play equipment. The playground closes each day 30 minutes before the park closes or at 8pm in May, June and July.

Cycling

Considerate cycling will be permitted where it is done so without interfering with the enjoyment of other park users and following the code of conduct, with pedestrian priority at all times. A person offending against any of the park regulations may be reported and a banning policy enforced.

Sports Facilities

Here are our sport facility charges (12.3kb)

Tennis courts

Our 12 well maintained tennis courts can be used on a 'turn up and play' basis. A uniformed park keeper will take payment and issue you a ticket during your game. The courts are opened at 8am and close 30 minutes before the Park closes.

Cricket nets

Three popular cricket nets can be used on a 'turn up and play' basis. Please remember you must wear your own safety gear when using the nets (i.e. helmet and leg pads) if under 16. The nets are opened upon request to a uniformed park keeper who will take payment and issue you a ticket. The nets open after 8am and close 30 minutes before the Park closes.

Cricket & football pitches

West Ham Park is the home ground for many cricket and football teams. The well maintained pitches and the changing rooms are hired out for a complete season. We only accept season bookings through the Park office and unfortunately cannot offer one off cricket games.

Five-a-side football, softball and rounders

Five-aside football, rounders and softball pitches can be marked out by staff for pre-booked games. Please keep in mind these need to be booked well in advance through the Park office.

Marked running tracks

The Park is delighted to be the venue for many school sports days. A 100m and 400m track is marked out on request through the Park office.
