Our activities are funded partly through public resources, the City Fund and partly through income from other funds - City's Cash and Bridge House Estates (for which overviews are produced each year).

Bridge House Estates Annual Accounts

​The City of London is the sole trustee of Bridge House Estates. Bridge House Estates in some cases built, and now maintains, five of the bridges that cross the Thames into the City of London:

  • London Bridge
  • Blackfriars Bridge
  • Southwark Bridge
  • Tower Bridge
  • Millennium Footbridge

The maintenance and replacement of these bridges remains the prime objective of the charity.

City Bridge Trust is the grant-making arm of Bridge House Estates. It was established to make use of funds surplus to bridge requirements and provides grants totalling around £15m per year towards charitable activity benefitting Greater London.
